The wife and I come to Europe each year.. and we love it!! Because of you and your friends, I decided that if there was a need , then I would offer to work over there for a few days... I mean hell, it IS STILL Europe!!!! AND Belgium IS a place we would like to see, Also some of the WWII places and stuff we have heard about, seems like forever..LOL

We have friends in the UK and can fly Ryan to you or at least close to there .. yes?? and do the Heads. I will plan on 8-10 hrs a day for enough days to do the heads... evenings will be killer if I have some locals to show us around.. yes! We usually come over for two weeks ( this year is the end of July into Aug) .I am not sure about this year.. need to see what you and your friends want and how soon!! To me... I enjoy the work, and the results !! I like working in new places, and if I have time to look around.. that is a plus!! IF the wife comes will that be an issue?? again, be straight up with me , and I can make arrangements!! Toss the Idea around.. and let me know!! We ( the wife and I ) are not the gotta have all the glamor and best.. we are regular guys that enjoy the places and people more than the posh expensive hotels ect... A mattress in a barn is even an experiance... yes?? LOL

I can bring all I need!! I use a die grinder that eats a lot of air pressure and volume, thus the compressor needs to be a good size, or the grinder slows down, and thus so does the work!! I can bring needed gaskets.. ( head/ valve cover/intake and exhaust/ and valve seals) We can discuss the price of the parts, and you can PAYPAL the money for me to purchase here.. yes??

IF needed!! I can dis-assemble the heads ( remove valves and springs ) the heads need to be off the engine with nothing attached... cool?? Let me know on the gaskets .. I have no idea on the cost over there !!

Now the COST !! I will make it more for the first few.. but if all want the heads, then ya'll can divide it equally, or what ever , as long as the agreed amount is reached for me..

1st heads.. 650.00 Euros / 2nd 625.00 / the rest at 600.00 euros !! Ie: 4 sets total will be $2475.00 Euros to be split thru your friends.. you know what I mean?? cool!

Yes.. the Downside!! I estimate 4 days total, more if needed! Yes, you will have to have a local shop put the head back together/ surface flat/ and valve job!! I have a +.5 or +1mm valve size if wanted ( again.. tell me and paypal the $$) I can look over your shops and advise them ( thru you, as I dont speak French) on what to do.. if needed!!

SOOOOoooo.... to recap! All gaskets or valves paid in full before I come over!! Figure 4 heads done. at the cost mentioned. I would like 50% down to bind the deal... This year is pretty quickly upon us.. so , I have time to mod my current trip to make it this years...( a 3 week trip for us is cool) or we can set up for next year... decisions.. decisions!! LOL

Emissions!! NO ONE here in the US has had emissions issues, not with my heads or others. Calif/ Pa/ Oh/ ect.. and other states have emission laws.. Calif being the tuffest!! I can say MY head has had no check engine lites on ( NO emissions here in Fl.)

I know this is a lot to go over.. let me know!! I think it would help both you and I !! It would be different, and a MINI thing to do..yes??LOL

Let me know.. My phone is 904-449-8924

Thanks

Mike

Hi... did you guys change your minds?? I am entertaining the Idea of coming over and porting the heads THERE in you Country!! I would bring my own tools for all the work, all I need there is a high volume air compressor!! The down
side is that , you would have to finish the valve jobs and surfacing, and put it back together!! But the port work will be done!! Right now , I am working on the details.. IF you have a place for me to stay for a few days, it could work!!

See attached on some work done... you would be saving ALL the shipping, any Taxes, and have the heads done there!!( in less than 3 days) Let me know if this is an Idea..

I could do as many as 4 heads in the time frame I am thinking.. more of course if the need is there.. is this something that is do able there?? Also custom port to the needs of your friends..

Let me know..

Thanks

Welcome to Thumper Performance !
MINI

We are a small business that is dedicated to allowing you to build power in your MC or MCS without a lot of confusing facts and gotta haves!! Just regular mods, done by regular guys like you and me. No magazine HYPE with super tuned, specialized, custom built cars and mods ( Test MULES ). Granted, it is out there and makes for great press, but how many owners have a shop full of technical expertise and equipment?? Not many, I would think. Thus Thumper Performance!! We do the mods, then we dyno for the results (using Dailey Drivers like yours and mine, then show the results) and then using the Straight facts, you decide!

If you have more or BETTER mods than shown on a MINI done thru us, then the power will be greater, than the results shown! Yes?

What a few of our customers have said on : MODS

POSTED SSM 12/06 …

Supporting mods will help make more power. One of the reasons why you see manufactures show a range of power estimates.

Look at it this way:

Lets say you bolt on one of his heads to a stock motored mini. Lets entertain ourselves and say he picked up 12whp on the dyno. OMG this head must not be that great only 12whp. What you have to understand is that when someone like Thumper says his product will make 18-30hp, its pretty much implied these days that you have the supporting mods to take full advantage.

Since this head breathes better, the engine is now being limited in power production because of the exhaust / intake and tuning.

So take the same scenario, but the next car has headers, cat back a cold air intake and a 15% pulley. Lets say they pick up 20whp. Now this same head rocks because the person was able to take advantage of the extra flow that a head provided.

Lets change it up a bit. Lets say you were in the stock mini that now has the head added. You go out and see the pulley claims a 7-10whp increase. So you add the pulley and dyno again and pick up 15 whp. Wow how did the pulley do so much? It is because the head took advantage of the extra air you were putting in the motor.

If I had to do all of this over again, I would have done the head first. Even though its not the cheapest mod, it is one of the best for the money. Aside from the pulley or nitrous will you not find a better bang for the buck for this car.

The bottom line is that the head will make the most out of the mods you do! If you start with that, you will see much higher gains for each mod you do since those mods will likely work better with the better head.

“But I think a lot of people end up here! You start modding for "just a little more". Then each bolt on really seems like a small step. Next thing you know you've spend a bunch more than a head cost, and don't have the power bump the head would have provided. Hindsight is 20/20, and it becomes apparent that one should have started with the head, and added on to that.” POSTED NAM 12-06

Seems like a HEAD mod would be the first…. Yes??

Here is a few results from guys like you and me, after a Thumper Head for the MCS was installed:

“At any rate first gear requires a slight adjustment to how one uses the gas pedal. Romp on it above 3500 = tires up in smoke.

Second gear is GREAT around town. It can pull no problem from 10 to about 70mph. It can really pull from down low as well, which should be awesome at the track.

On the top end this thing just continues to pull. Drop it in 4th doing 70 and mash the gas = 100+ in seconds. 5th and 6th on the interstate is just amazing. You can pass just about anything you want without downshifting. If that is still problematic, drop it in 4th and the problem is solved...

While this is not one of the cheaper mods one can do, aside from the pulley, you'd be hard pressed to find another mod that had a better ROI on this car. Not to mention, this mod really pulls together existing mods. “ 06 MCS

OR….

Thumper performance head installed - Wow!

Yesterday I had a new head ( Thumper Performance) installed on my 06 Cooper S, and the shrick swapped over to it.

The car is freaking unleashed! The seat of the pants dyno says that this thing is unreal.

Prior to getting the head done my best pull was 196.4whp/173tq with the following mods:

JCW injectors/ecu software, shrick cam, megan header, milltek exhaust, Random Tech cat, Alta CAI, IC, 17%, 0% lw crank pulley.

I can happily/sadly say traction is an issue in first gear! 06 MCS
( After head install.. 215.7 WHP ( 245 BHP )

All I can say is that the car is unbelievable now. I already had the laundry list of mods and just wanted to be above the 200whp net. I definitely think I have surpassed this, but we will see next weekend. 2nd gear has crazy pull now, and 5th and 6th on the interstate will get you around just about anything. I cant wait till the next track event to see how the low end jump helps pull out of the corners in 2nd!!! 06MCS

How about Mileage……
“The mileage, when I keep my foot out of it has gotten better!

The first week I had it I saw about 23mpg, naturally because I was beating on it.

However:

On the way up to Thumper's, I saw 27.3 mpg from Tampa to Jax. That was with many (5 or 6) 75-120mph passes.

On the way back, between Orange Park and Ocala, I saw 28.7mpg (calculated by filling up and dividing the distance) Between Ocala and Tampa, According to the OBC I saw 28.1

That is better than the car was stock.”

Drag race??………..

Here are the results of Ported Thumper Performance

Head on my 04 Mod’d MINI. Quarter mile time dropped from 15.4 et’s @ 93 mph to a 14.9 @ 96 mph. Of course the 60 fts were as usual.. bad!! Wheel HP went from 187 WHP to over 211 WHP ( 240.5 BHP !) see Dyno run. 04MCS

Even a MC will scream with out Head built just for the MC!

Mike, you're top-notch, man. I am very pleased with the work you did on the head, and although I didn't have a chance to "let it rip" just yet, I could feel the difference even in low RPMs, and if I let it go, it just goes! I mean, first gear is a dream now. Second is amazing, and, well... you know the rest. lol.

The car "feels lighter", but it's just the extra ponies doing work. I'm loving it big time, man. “

And…” The head is pretty sweet , I couldn't let it loose because I was told not to rev it above 4K RPMs until the cam and head "break themselves in" a little bit, but after 270 miles of highway, I can tell they're pretty broken in, and working flawlessly!

I really notice the "pick-up" ponies in first and second; I just let off the clutch, and next thing I know I'm already at 4K, I liked it a lot. “ ( edit) ( top speed from 118 MPH to 130 MPH!! )

Thumper Ported Head for the MC!!

Anyways, onto the news: I just recently did this mod together with a Schrick camshaft - I think I'm the only NON S with the Thumper Performance Head as of right now

Anyways, 2 days later I was tired of the 4K max, so I went all out on it... I was shocked/impressed/scared all at once. As I said earlier, the car feels much lighter (but it's just more power) and it picks up speed like nothing else. This experience is based on a 4-year-old MINI with STOCK ECU, after I change the ECU it should feel much better, as all my other mods would finally start to work together in harmony.

>>The new top speed is 130mph, but again, with a different ECU it might go higher. The thing that amazed me the most was the acceleration. The car just picks up and wants to go. Next thing I know it's 5K RPMs and I have to be alert to shift. And then it's the same thing again. The power doesn't die until I get to 6K RPMs in 5th, when it's going 130mph...

My mods as of now are (in order of installation).

1. aFe Air Intake.
2. MyMINI Touring Exhaust.
3. Megan Racing Exhaust Header.
4. Magnaflow CAT.
5. Schrick Camshaft.
6. Thumper Performance Cylinder Head.

After a reprogrammed ECU, I'm hoping for even more power. I'm not a power-crazed guy, but I like what I have. I'll have it dyno'd soon, and afterwards I'll post my results.

(Edit)______Posted NAM 12-06____________

Results are with a basic Mod’d 04 MCS we pulled from 187 whp to over 211 WHP !! That is 240.5 BHP !! And the 04 has a STOCK intercooler/stock cam/ stock exhaust header!! 06 MCS with more mods pulled from 187 whp to over 215.6 WHP !! And these are cars just like yours!! ( dyno sheets available) (* These are SAE corrected HP numbers. The 04 put 222 Actual HP to the Ground!!)

Soon.. we will be offering a “TPR” series Camshafts and Chemical intercooler packages .. Just to keep it simple, but FASTER!!

Thank You

Mike
